Your evening held in cosy tipis

Your venue for the pop up is held in traditional Scandinavian tipis. The tipis create a unique cosy atmosphere with the open fire pit creating a great focal point.

Music and Entertainment

‘Musical Mixologists –  The Violet Jive lay it down as both originals act and unique covers band with their fresh yet distinctly retro ‘spy-esque’ swing/alternative guitar driven sound

Almost all the ingredients are either sourced from the Kent & East Sussex countryside or grown on our smallholding. This means you get a menu that is unique, fresh & local.

Arrival Canapé Drinks

Seville, ginger, nasturtium and Bourbon cocktail

Made with our own Seville marmalade, ginger, bourbon, and finished with nasturtium cordial from our farm.

2Starter

Venison carpaccio

Local Kent venison marinated in bergamot and earl grey – skewered with blackberries, field mushrooms and toasted cob-nut scones

Beetroot carpaccio (v)

Flavoursome slices of heritage beetroot finished with a horseradish vinaigrette field mushrooms and toasted cobnuts scone

Served with local warm black olive bread

Served with warm black olive sour dough bread containing capers and olives. (Handmade by the Light House Bakery, East Sussex)

Cold smoked & roasted porchetta

Our own free range Gloucester Old Spot loin of pork stuffed with fennel, rosemary, thyme and garlic and smoked salt.
Cold smoked by Home Gurr’own before roasting

Butternut squash pie with smoked halloumi (v)

Deep filled hand raised pie with butternut squash and smoked halloumi. Topped with a savoury crumble top

Cold Smoked Porchetta stuffed with fennel

Seasonal Sides

Sage infused carrots & cauliflower
Sage infused Chantenay carrots with cauliflower. Served with a drizzle of truffle oil

Sautéed Savoy cabbage
Herb buttered savoy cabbage topped with crushed hazel nuts

Spiced dauphinoise potatoes
Thinly sliced potatoes, cooked in cream with long pepper, cardamom, mace and garlic.

A brioche roulade stuffed with Kent bramley apples, dried fruit and cinnamon cream

Paid bar open until midnight

During the evening there’ll be a paid bar open until Midnight. Here you can buy a range of local drinks such as beer from The Old Dairy Brewery, Anno Kent dry gin and wines from Hush Heath. In addition to our local drinks we’ll also have a selection of home-made cocktails and international beers and wines.

Chardonnay

Very clean with notes of citrus, thyme and pineapple. A lively palette – acidity is balanced by rich, ripe grapefruit, citrus and apple flavours. It is a wine with fantastic length, finishing with those salty and herby notes characteristic of the Hush Heath style.

Pinot Noir

Classic cool climate pinot noir aromas. Very clean with hints of cherry, leather and raspberry. The palate is light and fresh with ripe red berry and a touch of peppery spiciness. Raspberry and mint linger on the finish.

Nicci Gurr

I’ve been a chef for over 20 years ago – starting my career working with Albert Roux of Roux Fine Dining in London. I moved out of London 8 years ago to start our smallholding and catering business with my husband, Julian.

Local Kent ingredients from the smallholder
With cooking I always start with the basics and this means finding the freshest finest local ingredients. I use ingredients grown on our smallholding but I’m also passionate about sourcing further ingredients locally.
